Mini-Bio

Hello! My name is Diane and I am a creative designer specializing in brand identity living in New York City. I prefer strong graphical design elements with a clean aesthetic and am heavily influenced by fashion, pop culture and wherever I seem to be traveling at the time. I specialize in creative branding and identity, typography, logo design, illustration and concept development; as well as excellent written and verbal communication skills. I am proficient in Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Dreamweaver, Fireworks, Acrobat, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Keynote, Mac OS & Windows operating systems. I am equally adept at web design and front-end web development. I am familiar with the implementation of content management systems like Wordpress as well as web builders such as Wix, Squarespace and e-commerce strategies like Shopify and GoDaddy. I also have experience with FTP, HTML, CSS, Javascript, PHP, MYSQL and code editing. I possess excellent drawing skills and have the ability to sketch quickly and effectively for conceptual brainstorming sessions. In addition to creative design, I have (experience in my earlier career) a strong retail management background in women's apparel, and later in the cosmetic industry, eventually working as a freelance makeup artist. I have worked in various high-end boutique and specialty stores including but not limited to: Macy's, Nordstrom, Bloomingdale's, Neiman Marcus, Saks Fifth Avenue, and Henri Bendel. I also have experience working on photo shoots and runway shows while freelancing as a makeup artist, and have worked for cosmetic companies like Trish McEvoy, Bobbi Brown, Christian Dior and Elizabeth Arden. I am currently working on updating this web site, expanding a notecard and paper goods business co-own to include an e-commerce site as well as illustrating a series of children's books.
